1976 Elna Air Electronic TSP

Manufactured in Switzerland.  Isn't it pretty?  I bought it used in Brandon for $55 CAD from a lady who was replaced it with a Husqvarna Designer machine from the 1990s.

The manual is well-written and easy to follow.  This sweet little machine arrived at the craft emporium in perfect running order.  All it required some cleaning.  Elna came with her manuals X 2, bobbins and accessories.

After I cleaned her up, I sewed six nylon shopping bags with it while watching movies.  Elna sews lovely precise stitches!  Then I bought a used green steel Elna case from the Brandon Sewing Centre for it.  Elna along with the shopping bags and some knitted dishcloths was gifted to my lovely niece who is moving to Alaska!  A huge thanks to Lindsay who scanned book 1 of her manual for free downloading to anyone who needs it.  If you do download it, will you please leave a comment here so I know this was helpful?

  1. Thats funny, i bought this elna machine last week from a friend. Who had it as a gift from her mother in law. I use it to teach my daughter how to sew, its the perfect machine for that.

  4. The manual for the Elna Air doesn't seem to be available anymore - I get an error message saying the page cannot be found. Is it possible to make it available again? It would be great to have it. Jenny

  6. Thank you from New Zealand as well! I have had this machine for so many years but not used for about the last 15 to the point where I no longer remember how to use it (and of course have lost the manual). Have had it serviced and am now ready to go. Can I just ask (and I DON'T expect you to download that too) what does Manual 2 cover? This one seems to have what I need but am curious?

  7. Hi Anonymous,
Manual 2 covers general sewing instructions, not specific to the Elna Air Electronic TSP. I gave this sewing machine complete with both manuals away to my niece in Alaska.
Sorry I don't have an electronic copy of manual 2.

  9. I just received my Elna for Christmas and am now ready to start her up and get crafting, thanks to your manual! What a beautiful machine and document to match. Thanks for sharing, info was very hard to find online, even from the current Elna store.

  10. Thank you so much for posting photos and the manua!! This was my mother's Elna, I've never had the manual for it and have been pretty clueless about using some of the settings and controls. Now I can actually use it for more than simple straight stitches.

  11. Thank you so much for providing the manual, it's very helpful for this wonderful vintage machine. Without it I wouldn't be able to use many of the stitches other than straight or zig zag. Enjoy your pictures also -- thanks.

  13. Just downloaded the manual... Very similar to my Elna Jubilee Air Electronic, for which I have not found a downloadable manual so far... Very thankful indeed!!! Now I can give my beloved machine to my beloved daughter, with confidence!

  15. Thank you so much for posting the manual! I have the type 46 air electric Jubilee - not exactly the same (don't have the safety switch) but most of the functions are the same.

  18. Hello and thank you ! My mother in law just gave me her old machine, it's the same as yours but the front is blue instead of orange. I could not find the manual on Elna's website so I am very very happy you posted it on your blog other wise I would never have been able to use it.
